"So I bought two of these, one for my 4 year old and one for my 8 year old, for our flights from Sydney to Washington DC. On our flights over in December we tried them out - the girls did not really use them but having said that each of them had a spare seat beside them for extra space to lay down. On our way home however was a different story as the plane hand no spare seats. They were put to good use. My 8 year old was able to get her legs up in a curled position and cuddle her sister laying flat and slept for 8 hours straight. My 4 year old lay completely flat like in a bed and also slept 8 hours straight. I even managed to put my legs up a bit as well across their hammocks. They were well worth the money. People were looking at me as if I was a bit crazy when I was setting them up, but then admired the fact of how good my kids slept with them and inquired about them so they could get for their kids. My husband was a skeptic about them when I bought them but he is a believer now!"
